Anything Else

As the concept of
treasure-collecting grows, new areas that defy our usual shipwreck coin and
artifact classifications come our way, and we park them on this page. Look here
for old documents, maps, prints, paintings, primitive money, and non-shipwreck
artifacts.

Large bronze signal cannon, Spanish colonial, 1600s, found in Peru.
A very sturdy and heavy (over 6 pounds, 4" tall and in diameter) upright "mini-cannon" that was used either for
signaling or powder-testing, very rustic in design but now attractively (darkly) patinated, with touchhole near flat base. |

Civil War-era brass mariner's telescope (1860s).
Interesting artifact, obviously well used and probably missing some parts (as its 5 current parts do not all fit together), but still makes a great display, with sign of the maker (Gray London / Day or Night) in script on barrel, the outer tube coated in tarred(?) rope, 39" fully extended (29.5" main tube). |
