This appears to be a typical Fleet 8R but it comes from the collection of Mendel Peterson, who obtained coins from wrecks all over the world in his travels for the Smithsonian Museum in the 1970s, so this coin could come from another wreck. There is also a tiny drilled hole in edge. Nice cross, odd-shaped planchet, practically no corrosion.

Great little stack containing a Potosí 4R, a Lima 2R, a Mexican 1R, and two other unidentified cobs with lots of orange encrustation and little pebbles in between, a very scarce mix of different types and very attractive for a small clump.
