As one of the final experiments in the transition begun in 1652, the half reales of 1656 uniquely show crosses on both sides (with the date relegated to the rarely seen legend), one with lions and castles and the other superimposed by the monogram, which is full and bold on this example, the cross-lions-castles nearly full too, toned Fine+ with dark patina.
